Hello! Thank you for stopping by my blog as you follow A Royal Christmas 12 Author Hop. I hope you're enjoying your journey.

I've released four medievals and a medieval novella, and over the years have collected hundreds of books about 15th century England. My favorites (such as Private Life in the Fifteenth Century and the medieval craftsmen series offer fascinating details about castles, knights and and life during that time period, which I love learning about. Something else I love is when sources say, "No one knows what happened," because I think it's fun to combine actual history with imagination.

What do you love about historicals and why?

Comment below to enter to win one of three copies of Nicholsa's story, my first book, At His Command, 2016 Booksellers' Best Award Best Historical and Best First Book winner, which is also on sale for .99.

Lady Amice Winfield doesn’t know how she can fulfill her duty to marry the king’s choice because she’s falling for Sir Nicholas Gray, the knight sent to protect her from undesirable suitors. But serving opposing factions seeking to govern England threatens to pull them apart. Could she defy her king for love?

I hope you'll sign up for my newsletter, and join me online on Facebook at Ruth Kaufman Author & Actress, @RuthKaufman on Twitter and Goodreads.  If you're interested, all of my books and sets are on my Amazon author page.

I love imagining what life was like in different time periods. I do enjoy historicals that include castle life whether it's in England, Scotland, Germany, etc. I also like reading about he Civil War tim period. And would love to have been a teenager back in the 1950's when rock and roll first started.

I never thought I would like historical romances but once I read them I discovered that they are very sweet and romantic but have a lot of passion. I prefer them to contemporary because there is a lot less vulgarity, profanity and slang. I don't like all the modern-day references to brand names of cars and useless details that remind me that this is a book rather than a story.

Since I have degree in history it just goes that a well researched and written romance is a great way for me to relax. I especially love reading about medieval Scotland and Regency London.

I like reading historical romance because I'm a history nut. I love learning about how people lived in the past without all of today's technology. Sometimes I feel like I have been born in the wrong time period!! LOL! Merry Christmas and thank you for the chance!

I have always been a history buff favoring 🇪🇬 Egypt the 🇬🇧 the United Kingdom , 🇮🇪 Ireland and oh, hell all the rest of Europe ! Then throw in some romance, a little sex, hunky heros and fiesty females and I am hooked !

Re historicals, I love all the customs and manners of the times they are set in that I learn about while reading. It usually gives me a greater appreciation for indoor plumbing.

I love historical romance for the blend of history and fantasy. For wearing those beautiful dresses vicariously, without having to maintain a bevy of servants to tight-lace my corset and carry around smelling salts. For balls and gaity, without having to conform to all the unwritten rules of propriety and deportment. In fantasy romance, you can take experience beauty of the past and leave the plague, rats, sewage, and horrible bathroom situations.

I love historicals for the larger-than-life heroes.

I love Historical's for many reasons such as the history and fantasy mixture, or the dream of transporting through time to a wonderful gallantly and beautiful era in history. Or the Knight's and their gallant bravery. I could go on but I won't, just know that reading Historical's is in my opinion a great way to spend an afternoon.
Thank you...

For me, the reason I love historical's is because they are more realistic with the believable heroes. Me being a veteran and very patriotic I tend to love a man or stories where feisty women and strong men who are protective over their clans and fight to the end to keep their kin safe. Sure the romance is hot and sweet but the love and dedication that comes through the pages is the honor and respect I connect with and is what makes them great characters. Any character can be sexy and hot but can their good deeds win the hearts of the reader - only in historical reads can you find it and that is a highlander trait. LOL

I love that in historical romances, the heroes are real, masculine, Renaissance men. They are educated, but able to defend their lands and family if needs be. They are rogues, but gentlemen where their ladies are concerned. They can lead men into battle, dance attendance at court, hunt to provide for their families, and make a woman feel like a woman in bed. Men like that just don't exist in the modern world.

What I love about historical medieval period is learn about food, tapestry (how they made stitch craft so fun and beautiful), horse, falconer and also beautiful 4-post bed
